Kerry holds a BBA degree in Personnel Management from Southern Methodist University. During college, she was employed by the Dallas County District Clerk and had the unique opportunity to work in the offices of Judge Sarah T. Hughes. After graduating from SMU and marrying James M. Brown, she was employed by Texas Instruments Human Resource Department and later served as Manager of Off-Premise Programming for Service Bureau, a subsidiary of IBM. Kerry joined James M. Brown Company, Inc. in 1975 to work for a “short time” while the company broadened its focus from farms and ranches to land brokerage. Thirty-nine years later she continues to be responsible for the administrative functions of James M. Brown Partners, Inc. and Spring Haven Investments, Inc. Kerry was also the founder and president of Pentagon Properties Corporation, a management firm specializing in partnership and investment property management.
